TuiNa for the Sole is a course designed for acupuncturists and Asian bodyworkers to be able to provide a coveted, transformative, effective 30-minute session of five zone foot reflexology and receive valuable information to prescribe herbs, acupuncture, and reflexology for future visits.

Developed in Taiwan, this protocol has been researched to double the overall rate of blood flow, which directly improves each organ's function. Most effective for neural and endocrine disorders, the five zone theory of reflexology teaches us how to detect a problem at 20% development before symptoms are even present, which usually occurs at 60% development. The first part of this course will teach the five zone protocol and all other associated areas of the foot. Your contact on the foot will give you insight to the body while your hands stimulate the nerves and the meridians to facilitate the healing. The second part of the course will improve your ability to see into the organs and you will refine your palpation skills of various tissues as well as channel differentiation. Once you can differentiate the 12 meridians, you can detect if they are crossed while realigning them. The name Tui Na for the Sole arose from the unique results of this particular protocol, which focuses on the Kidney and Bladder meridians to allow the Heart to shine forth.

The following are recommended for the seminar

  1. Salve
  2. The optional, but helpful text book written by Yan Lu, DAOM $50 Plus $6.25 S&H. (available from MAS if registering by early deadline).
  3. Plastic feet reflexology model: Click here for example.
  4. Yoga block and a hand towel. Practitioner places the yoga block on his/her leg and the towel over it for the person's foot to rest on the towel. This allows the foot to be higher towards the chest for great ergonomics.
  5. Super short fingernails, as every acupuncturist knows.
