Cancer is a complex, multifaceted condition that permeates the entire being. Your patients will benefit from the fully holistic approach of this seminar Rylen discusses the importance of a supportive team of practitioners, meditation, exercise, diet, and attitude and lifestyle changes.

Cancer recovery can be a deeply reflective and healing process. Many remark that cancer has been an opportunity for them to redefine themselves and their lives.

Rylen has developed unique expertise in a holistic, compassionate approach to cancer care that empowers patients, their families, advocates and caregivers to restore quality of life and support the healing process.

In this seminar, we will explore the important role complementary and alternative medicine plays in caring for individuals living with cancer. A holistic approach can help people with cancer preserve greater quality of life, lessen side effects from Western allopathic treatments, increase patients’ ability to sustain a stronger immune system during chemotherapy and radiation treatments, and help rebuild and recover greater health after completing conventional treatment. The latter may be the most important role we can play and often leads to longer cancer-free recovery for the survivor.

In this class, we will discuss the underlying factors linked to cancer based on the principles of Chinese medicine. There are multiple variables that contribute to the cause of cancer, including exposure to an ever increasing amount of environmental toxins, emotional stress, poor nutrition, and issues with digestion and elimination that contribute to an accumulation of internal toxins and damaged organs.

Chinese medicine and complementary healthcare professionals will gain valuable insight, tools, and skills which they can put to immediate use in their practice. You will learn:

  • your role in advocacy and support
  • possible causes and treatment of cancer
  • the role of nutrition in treatment and post recovery
  • herbs and supplements
  • qigong, breathing exercises, and visualization
  • acupressure/acupuncture points
  • simple touch protocols to incorporate into treatment
  • methods for reducing the side-effects of chemo and radiation

This class is open to all complementary and alternative medicine practitioners, including but not limited to acupuncturists, Asian bodywork therapists, holistic health practitioners, massage therapists, and nutritionists. For the bodywork session, knowledge of Chinese medicine principles is helpful.

Both days will begin with qigong.

DAY ONE: We will start with a discussion on the possible causes of various forms of cancer from both Western and Eastern perspectives. We will discuss the importance of advocacy and how we can offer our support. We will review the importance of nutrition and various dietary protocols to consider before, during, and after cancer treatments, as well as remedies for various symptoms and phases of cancer and cancer treatments.

DAY TWO:  We will cover some of today’s most promising supplements, and some Chinese herbal formulas for alleviating and treating cancer and the coexisting conditions that frequently come up during and post treatment. We will discuss the importance of attitude and touch and will practice some supplemental self-care exercises, treatment strategies, and some touch point protocols to treat during chemo and/or radiation, and post recovery treatments.

Client Testimonials:
“I firmly believe the side effects that many cancer patients experience with chemo and radiation were lightened or nonexistent, thanks to the bodywork and herbal support
I was given. It made me glow. It gave me strength when I needed it most. I could feel the toxins, stress, and worry disseminating with each visit. I was treated with respect and positivity, honoring my experience as an individual.” - MB

“My training and practice are in Western medicine so the science and art of Chinese medicine is beyond my full understanding, however, the results are indisputable. My experience with Amma Therapy is both personal and professional. I have observed the benefits in my patients whose symptoms or medication side effects have fully resolved, and personally found it to be the key therapy that allowed me to sail through my cancer treatment.” – KG

Class Testimonial:
“I really appreciated the unique combination of the nutrition, bodywork protocol, and qigong in this workshop. The instructor was great. Lots of fantastic info!” - CJ
